Process

Below showcases how I conceptualize, art direct, and design each of my projects!

Project — Spar

Research..

How I start every project..

What I’m looking for..

Research is at the root of it all.

Questions I ask myself:

What am I going to be designing for?

What is the problem I need to solve and how will I solve it?

Research helps aid in the conceptual thinking and visual identity throughout each project.

Initial Research: What is being said about the topic

Brand positioning

Conceptual Thinking..

My favorite part of every project..

What I’m looking for..

This is the part of my process where I look for the backbone of my project. I ask: How am I going to clearly communicate this project both in terms of the copywriting and visual identity.

Concept options

Visuals to help further conceptual thinking

Research to help with communication

Mind maps & word lists to get the brain thinking

Naming & Logos..

The start of it all..

What I do..

Sketch! Sketch! Sketch! This is the part of my process where I let it all go! I keep my hand moving, knowing that my brain will follow, eventually leading to a name and logo I can work off of and ideate.

Below..

Name options with explanations

Logo sketches & the meaning for each

Visual Identity..

Where it all starts to come to life..

What I do..

This is where my vision comes alive! I work in black & white with very minimal design, mapping out what goes where and how I see each element of the project living.

Considerations..

How do I make this real..

What I do..

This is where I ask myself the important questions:

What is important to say and where is the copy going to live?

Where am I going to source images and what images are right for this project?

How is this information going to translate to other formats?
